Our approach

Repair the damage, keep the person

Every restoration we make follows one rule: fix what time did to the photo, and never change who the person was. Here's what that means, and why it matters so much.

AI can make a face look 'better.' We think that's exactly the wrong goal. A restored photo should look like your grandmother — not a smoothed-over stranger who happens to resemble her.

The principle behind everything we build

There’s a temptation in AI photo tools to make people look “better” — smoother skin, brighter eyes, a slimmer jaw. On a selfie filter, fine. On a photo of your late grandfather, it’s a quiet kind of loss: the more the tool “improves” him, the less he looks like the man your family remembers.

So we drew a hard line. FotoRipple repairs the damage — the fading, scratches, tears, and stains that time and accidents left on the paper — and keeps the person exactly as they were. The lines on a face, the shape of a smile, the particular set of the eyes: those aren’t flaws to fix. They’re the reason you kept the photo.

What this means in practice

  • We remove damage, not character.
  • We recover real detail; we never generate a fictional face.
  • We restore identity even in the most delicate cases — damage across a face, a blurry portrait, a tiny face in a group shot.
  • If we ever get the person wrong, we redo it free.

This is why families trust FotoRipple with photos that are, quite literally, irreplaceable. It’s also why we built restoration, colorization, and animation to work together — each step brings a loved one closer, without ever turning them into someone else.

We repair damage

Fading, scratches, tears, water stains, blur — the things time and accidents did to the paper. This is what restoration should fix.

We keep the person

We don't slim jaws, erase lines, brighten eyes, or 'beautify.' The real features of a real person are exactly what we preserve.

Free redo if it's not them

If a restoration doesn't faithfully represent the original person, redo it at no cost. Getting the person right is the whole point.

Frequently asked questions

Why not make old photos look 'better'?
Because a photo of a loved one isn't a beauty shot — it's a record of who they were. Glamour edits replace the person with an idealized version, which defeats the purpose of restoration.
Does AI ever invent a face?
Some tools do — they generate an attractive but fictional face to 'fix' a blurry one. We deliberately don't. FotoRipple recovers the real detail already in the photo, so the person stays themselves.
What if the restoration doesn't look right?
Redo it free. Our promise is fidelity to the original person, and we stand behind it.
